The 2025 Global Artificial Intelligence Machines and Electronics Expo (AIE) opened jointly in Macao and Zhuhai on December 4. Supporting the Hengqin Cooperation Zone master plan, the event’s theme, “Intelligent Manufacturing in the Bay Area, Shared Globally,” promoted industrial collaboration and innovation across the Greater Bay Area. Invited exhibitor AMicro demonstrated how its robotics technology supports national strategies and Macao’s economic diversification.
The Secretary visits AMicro’s booth
On opening day, Macao Secretary for Economy and Finance and Hengqin Cooperation Zone Executive Committee Director Tai Kin Ip visited the booth to learn about AMicro’s collaboration with Macao and industrial upgrading. President Jiang Xinqiao explained that the company aligns its growth with Macao’s economic diversification through collaborative research and joint industrial development.
In research, AMicro has a long-standing partnership with the University of Macau. The partners jointly undertake national key R&D and Greater Bay Area technology cooperation projects, operate a joint laboratory and commercialize advanced patents. This collaboration accelerates technology transfer and provides a practical model for a sustainable research-to-application ecosystem in Macao.
In industry, AMicro and Macao Gaole Intelligent have established a joint laboratory for intelligent robotics and the low-altitude economy. Their drone AI modules combine multi-camera vision–IMU fusion, vSLAM and edge AI NPUs for GPS-free localization, real-time obstacle avoidance and dynamic model switching. The platform targets tourism aerial photography and inspection, supporting innovation and high-quality low-altitude economic development in Macao and the Greater Bay Area.
AMicro showcased uSLAM (ultra fusion SLAM), its all-scenario multi-camera vision platform for intelligent robots. Built on its new in-house robotics architecture, it combines a high-performance vision engine with general-purpose high-compute modules to deliver customized chip-level robotics solutions. Its high performance and low power consumption support humanoids, industrial visual inspection, drone navigation and cleaning robots.
Rooted in Hengqin and Macao, supporting the Greater Bay Area and global robotics
AMicro’s AIE participation reflects its commitment to Macao–Hengqin collaboration and Greater Bay Area development. Hengqin and Macao are strategic foundations for its innovation, while the wider region offers opportunities for growth. The company will support the Cooperation Zone’s second-stage development, optimized separate-line customs administration, emerging industry clusters and Macao’s economic diversification.
Focused on robotics and AI, AMicro will continue innovating with ecosystem partners, supporting Macao’s economic transformation and extending Hengqin–Macao innovation across the Greater Bay Area, China and the global intelligent robotics industry.
