R&D Capabilities

Amicro keeps pushing the boundaries of technology and consolidating industrial foundations. It has twice undertaken national key R&D programs, won the Provincial Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress on two occasions, received the Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award twice, and earned three awards in the "China Chip" series. The company has filed over 2,000 intellectual property rights applications in total, with more than 800 invention patents granted. In 2025, it was listed among China’s Top 500 Patent Assignees, ranking first in the Hengqin Cooperation Zone in both the number of granted invention patents and active invention patents in force. The company developed the world’s first SLAM SoC dedicated for robots, filling the market gap for chips specialized in mapping and navigation. It has built an all-in-one robot chip-level full-stack technology platform integrating computing power, perception and actuation. Centered on self-developed algorithms and proprietary SoCs, it integrates components including sensors and motion control modules, making it one of the few enterprises in the industry that masters end-to-end full-stack core capabilities.

Hengqin-Macao Integration & Industry-University-Research Collaboration

Amicro continuously links scientific and innovation resources of Hengqin and Macao to deepen industry-university-research collaboration. In 2019, it joined hands with the University of Macau to tackle a national key R&D program. In 2021, it secured RMB 100 million in strategic investment from Macao-based Tengchuang Capital, emerging as an important benchmark for Macao capital empowering the hard-tech industry in Hengqin. In 2022, it established a wholly-owned subsidiary, Yiwei Technology (Macao) Company Limited, in Macao. In 2024, it was recognized as a “High-potential Technology Enterprise” by the Macao SAR Government. Meanwhile, the company collaborates with multiple Macao higher education institutions: it has co-built a joint laboratory with the University of Macau, jointly advanced seven research tasks, obtained licensing for three core patents from the University of Macau, and jointly cultivated more than 30 master’s and doctoral students from the university. It also carries out industry-university-research cooperation with over ten top-tier universities across mainland China. The company recruits leading technical doctors worldwide, creates job opportunities for graduates from Macao’s universities, and builds an integrated talent collaborative development system for Hengqin and Macao.

Looking ahead, the company focuses on the core track of "Robotics + AI". With its comprehensive independent technology system, it will continue to lead the domestic, self-controllable development of robot chips.
